Cataloging

Data cataloging is the process of creating an organized, searchable inventory of an organization’s data assets, enriched with metadata that describes their structure, purpose, and relationships. A robust data catalog serves as a central hub where data is easily discoverable, enabling business users, analysts, and data engineers to quickly find and understand the data they need.

Glossaries

An unlimited number of glossaries provide descriptions of assets such as business terms, technical terms, metrics, and business functions.

Dashboards

Point-and-click dashboard customization using a library of widgets.  Unlimited dashboards can be created for specific roles, teams, architectures, etc.

Collections

Groupings of assets (business and technical) that are commonly used together.  Examples include domains (functional & technical), PII, and data products.

Excel Integration

MetaKarta lineage capability is visible within Microsoft Excel.  Excel metadata is also harvested and visible as part of the data landscape.

Social Curation

Descriptive metadata is auto-generated and also manually contributed by users.  This includes endorsement ('likes'), certification, and warnings on assets.

Object Explorer

Powerful faceted search and browsing drill-down capability for traversing millions of assets to find the topic of interest.

BI/DI Tool Integration

Tool-specific browser extensions support full access to MetaKarta metadata, including lineage, from within the third-party tool.
